    Fabulous

The staff were extremely helpfull and friendly. Room was fine with lovely views and everything we needed. Ate in Tweedies and the hotel resteraunt - both excellent. Enjoyed that much we have booked to visit again later in the year.

    Fabulous

The staff were very pleasant, and the rooms were of a good standard. We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel but the breakfast was very good, Also, I thought the beer prices were very reasonable (£2.50 for a pint of real ale)!

The Lodge rooms were too small and believe they should have made 3 instead cramming 4 in the block

    Exceptional

cheerful friendly staff who clearly work very hard to keep visitors happy and succeed----our room was perfect being comfortable, well equipt and TV, IT available (was last week of Wimbledon) with 2 lovely lakeland views from each window---would definately stay again. Food in Tweedies bar was excellent--good menu and top quality dishes.

    Exceptional

The setting at the side of the Grasmere lake was stunning.., The hotel very sumptuous.., Fantastic setting for a wedding. Lovely village with nice restaurants and the hotel bar & restaurant was fantastic. Beautiful gardens with bunny rabbits running about. Very relaxing.

    Very good

This hotel is in an excellent central location for exploring the lakes. Grasmere is a really nice village to stay in, plenty of facilities and good walking.

We stayed in the 'luxury mews' rooms which are at the back of the hotel. The room itself was excellent, but because of the location of the room there was a lot of noise from the rear of the bar and restaurant area. Additionally, there is a shared terrace for use by the occupants of the mews rooms (there are four), and so if someone wants to sit outside drinking late into the night as someone did on our stay, don't expect to get much sleep! Rooms inside the hotel are no doubt a lot quieter, maybe we were just unlucky!!

    Fabulous

A good experience this was our third visit, Tweedies restaurant significantly improved and all meals were excellent.

    Superb

Brilliant breakfasts, courteous and efficient staff, peaceful surroundings, and a good central place from which to explore the Lake District.

The bed was too hard and we couldn't control the heating in the room. Ohterwise, we had a wonderful stay, and would recommend it highly.

    1. Location and setting. 2. Location and setting. 3. Location and setting. 4. Sleek and professional conduct of all staff we came in contact with.

    Nothing, really.

    Good

The location is ideal for walkers. Not too near it's bigger neighbour, Ambleside, but close enough. The staff are freindly and helpful and the food is exellent.

The plumbing system is old and outdated. It rattled and banged most of the night climbing to a 'din' at 6.35 am.

Nothing negative to report at all
